Kids’ Night and “Sunday come Thursday” is a group with children age 4 – 13 which attracts on average 22 children each week. A new development for this group is a computer suite with Christian programs to attract and retain our young people. This could have a number of exciting possibilities in the future. We have a reputation for catering and approximately every five weeks hold a Sunday Lunch which attracts many church people from across the circuit and others from the local community.“Snack n Chat” 12 noon– 2pm on the 2nd Friday of each month when we serve a range of hot and cold snacks including bacon sandwiches. This regularly attracts 40 / 45 visitors – again mainly connected with local churches but with an increasing number from the local community. Why not drop in on and see what we have to offer? The bacon sandwiches are brilliant and the home made cakes extremely tempting and the all day breakfast very popular too, and all at very reasonable prices! There is also a Creche for Under Five’s held at Snack n Chat at 50p per child. This is run in conjunction with the Lighthouse Children’s Centre Other social events will be planned throughout the winter months by the Catering and Social committee. We offer you a warm welcome to all our activities. |
| Further information | The church on its present site opened in 1898, and we celebrated our 110th anniversary in November 2008, although prior to this the Primitive Methodist church met in a tin chapel on the other side of the road and was founded in 1851. We have 53 members most of whom are well over 50! Or even 60! Our mission statement is to serve God; deepen faith and support others. We are exploring new ways of witness and worship and at New Invention have formed a mission group to examine all possibilities. |
