Willenhall Trinity Bowls Club is situated in Charles Street Willenhall.and Crown Green Bowls has been played on the site since the 1920’s when it was part of the Russell Street Playing Fields. The present membership is around 70 with ages ranging fro 21 to 98.

Over the last few years, the club has undergone a lot of changes and membership has increased by over 30% with the  number of teams increasing from 8 to 12. The following improvements have been made:      New kitchen, disabled toilet and Gent’s toilet installed; new car park and planting banks around the Green; Canopy installed at front of clubhouse; covered enclosure provided for visiting teams; two new covered areas for spectators; two new storage sheds. The club is, at present, installing an automatic watering system and upgrading the upstands and path edges around the Green; a new ceiling is being installed in the clubhouse; The existing high-level spectator area is to be rebuilt.

We have a working party each Thursday morning between 9 and 12. We also have hundreds of books from 25p, CD’s, DVD’s and Jigsaws videos  for sale at very reasonable prices so why not come along and have a look around and meet some of the members?

The Club has the following teams

  • Monday – two teams in Heath Town League – 7pm – All ages
  • Tuesday – two teams in Walsall Veterans League – 1-30pm – Over 50’s
  • Wednesday – three teams in Wolverhampton Senior Citizens League – 12 noon & 2pm – Over 60’s
  • Thursday – Cannock League – 6-30pm – All ages
  • Friday – three teams in Heath Town Over 50’s League – 12 noon & 2pm – Over 50’s
  • Saturday – Wolverhampton Works League – 2.30pm – All ages

We also have club singles & doubles competitions during the year.

We are always on the lookout for new members, young or old, non bowlers, novices or experienced. Monday & Thursday afternoons we have practice session and anyone who would like to have a taster in bowling would be made most welcome.  Just give Norman a phone-call or email him to arrange a visit.

The club is very strong socially with members and their families joining in a number of events. Each year we hold a number of Social and Fundraising events i.e.: Choral Concert – Quiz – Sporting Evening – Family Fun Day-Barn-dance-Beetle Drive-Coach Trips to Tinsel & Turkey.

We also have a rambling section that meets on the last Sunday of every month.  Walks are between four and five miles and end up at a local Hostelry for Sunday Lunch.

The season starts with a meal at the AGM and finishes with  a meal at the annual Presentation Evening.

Wednesday 22nd November Quiz Evening at 7.30 pm at Short Heath Royal British Legion, Church Road WV12 5PT.  Teams of up to 4 people at £2.50 per person – Bring your own Food.
